Education

The Alliance strongly encourages education at all stages of life, and even though the Reservoir itself is still closed for restoration, we are still providing programs! We work with public and private schools, Scouts, adult groups, and more to ensure everyone has access to nature education opportunities. If your group is interested in having a visit from the Reservoir volunteers for your own program, or would like us to facilitate one in partnership with your organization, please contact us directly.

The Alliance has worked with two different school groups to serve as an outdoor classroom during our seasonal hours:

The Reservoir has been the incubator for nationally award winning environmental STEM team projects and yearly hosts for day through the NJ Audubon. Project Reservoir, a program started by teachers and students at neighboring P.S. 28, is the longest running educational program utilizing Reservoir #3.
